As the Texas summer heat settled in, the McAndrew family returned to the road in search of cooler weather. Evelyn, Jack, and James left a few days early with Cappy and Grandma in the camper, while Jim and Ashley tied up a few loose ends back home.

They made stops at Abilene State Park; Palo Duro Canyon; Trinidad, CO; and Breckendridge, CO, where Jim and Ashley caught up with them.
Jim and Ashley spent the night at the Frisco Hotel, and we all enjoyed a lovely hike near Lake Dillon.

While hiking, we saw several beautiful birds, including a Western Tanager, and many beautiful wild flowers.

Our next stop was an overnight in Grand Junction/Fruita, CO.

While we didn’t anticipate doing much at this stop, we were pleasantly surprised by our visit of Colorado National Monument – a spectacular rock formation easily accessible by vehicle.

The next day, we make it to our summer destination – Park City, UT!
Those pictures are beautiful!
